The lack of contrast in the original, period-correct fabric, together with the busy pattern, de-emphasize the delicate and unusual frame. But the potential is unmistakable!

By introducing contrast and eliminating pattern, except for the white-on-white textural detail on the inside back, I would allow this unique frame to take center stage.
